Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Nigerian immigrants, Uwa's journey across cultures is inspiring. She made Maya Angelou’s quote her motto.

At age 6, she and her older brother were sent to live with their grandmother in Nigeria, where they got the opportunity to learn her parent’s culture and family’s heritage. She did some of her primary school education in Nigeria and completed her secondary, University and post Graduate education in her birth country the United States. She considers herself blessed to have two different cultural perspectives.
Uwa has had many accomplishments both professionally and personally. She has spent over a decade working in the fashion & beauty industry, specifically in eCommerce and Digital Marketing space. She feels one of her best professional achievements was becoming a college professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and New York University (NYU) in New York City.
Uwa believes and lives by the saying of her favorite author and phenomenal woman (Maya Angelou) “at our best we are all teachers”. She strongly believes being in service to others, helps us align with our life’s purpose .
